Coming straight from the Heart of Europe, bringing the freshest dubstep, electro & breakbeat sounds, Soak records is the brand new label to be reckoned with. Established as an offshoot of the prolific Czech freetekno label DCT, state-of-the-art sound and a big portion of subbass are its key features. At least that’s the plan.
The label`s initial release features brand new tracks produced by the veteran of the London underground scene, Blackmass Plastics of the Rag & Bone and Dead Silence fame.
The opening tune, „Strychnine“ on the A-side, presents a tough combination of electro-break beats and grimey basslines in the Leyton Breakers style. With its dark poisonous atmosphere, the tune delivers repetitive hypnotic feel characterized by crystallic electro pads and bubbling subbass bottom.
The first one on the flip side, „Sewerage“, comes with even darker shade of sound based on a rolling drum’n’bass style bassline backed by the electro beat and a dark creepy 303 acid bath.
The last but not least, „Accident Man“, is a proper electro-breakbeat dancefloor stormer with a huge amount of wickedness and energy to mash up the whole place.
Producer, remixer and DJ Blackmass Plastics has been releasing his music for quite long time now, receiving wide acclaim for the productions on his own labels Thorn industries and Dirty Needles (co-founded with Christoph Fringelli from Praxis Records). Touring UK supporting Dead Silence Syndicate, collaborating with DJ Controlled Weirdness or Judge Mental, remixing Hecate, ScanOne or Stormfield
and DJing across Europe, Blackmass Plastics is here to stay.
